el amor en libertad

Cuenta la historia que un bonito pájaro solía visitarla. Ella lo admiraba tanto que un día resolvió prenderlo en una jaula, para poder así tener siempre presentes su canto y su belleza. Con el pasar de los días, ella se acostumbró al nuevo compañero, y perdió el deslumbramiento de esperar a aquella alma libre que la visitaba de vez en cuando, sin coerción alguna. El pájaro, por su parte, no conseguía cantar en cautiverio, y acabó muriendo. Sólo entonces ella logró entender que el amor requerí! a libertad para aprovechar todo su encanto – aunque la libertad comporta riesgos.

Todos tenemos tendencia a pretender el cautiverio porque solemos ver la libertad como algo que no tiene límites ni responsabilidades. Es por esta razón por lo que intentamos esclavizar todo lo que amamos, como si el egoísmo fuera la única manera de mantener nuestro mundo equilibrado. El amor no limita: amplía nuestros horizontes, podemos ver claramente lo que está fuera, y podemos ver con mayor claridad aún los lugares oscuros de nuestro corazón.

Y cuando encuentres algo, continúa buscando de todas formas, con entusiasmo y curiosidad. A pesar de los errores que eventualmente puedas cometer, el amor es más fuerte, permite que el pájaro vuele en libertad, y cada paso ya no será apenas un movimiento hacia delante, sino que contendrá en sí mismo todo un nuevo camino.
